As a metaphor for the Connectedness of all Life and our common descent from Source through ongoing Manifestation of Diversity and Unity, the Tree of Life has a place in the world's mythology and theology.
The Tree of Life represents the never-ending Cycle of Life, hence Immortality, Fertility and the Ageless. The Egyptians refer to a tree on the threshold of life and death, connecting the two worlds.
The Tree of Life is one of the structures within Sacred Geometry. Starting from the Seed of Life or the Flower of Life, 10 nodes are selected that form, together with the connecting lines, the Tree of Life:
The 10 nodes are the ten attributes through which All-That-Is reveals Itself (allows Itself to be perceived) or how the Limitless takes on limitation. The Kabbalah studies the Divine Relationship between the Infinite and the resulting finite entities, aiming for the Nature of the Paradox between Eternal God and mortal Human.
